NEW ZEALAND DIVISION
THRUSTS ACROSS PLAINS (N.Z.E.F. Official War Correspondent)
LOMBARDY PLAINS. Oct. 20. Now that the enemy is being forced back with some speed, and while the favourable weather continues, the policy is to press him as hard as possible, and all the roads in the divisional sector are carrying great numbers of tanks, guns and trucks as our forces are brought up and deployed for further thrusts in conjunction with other elements of the Eight Army oh our flanks.
This flat country, while by no means perfect for the purpose, offers the best opportunity the division has had to show what can be done by co-opera-tion between its infantry and its own tanks, and as the men of the Armoured Brigade go into action alongside the infantrymen on a broader front than has been possible elsewhere in Italy, the ooerations are being watched with the greatest possible int'erest.
