CELEBRATIONS AT “CEASE FIRE” HOUDAYS WITH PAY (Rec. 9 p.m.) LONDON, Oct. 20. More than 40,000 workers in the Nuffield organisation will receive two days’ holidays with pay immediately the “ cease fire ’’ sounds in Europe. The vice-chairman of the organisation said that Lord Nuffield insists that all the workers shall have properly constituted freedom to rejoice when the great day comes. The Daily Mail says the Government has plans for a public holiday when the war against Germany ends, but the “cease fire” will not mean “down tools.” The victory celebrations will be “controlled,” probably on a staggered bads.
