An American author, born in New Zealand and educated in Australia, has taken part in most of the Allied landings in New Guines snd other islands of the South-west Pacific. He is Lieutenant Harold Waters, of the United States Navy, and he is 38 years of age Waters, who has been in the American Navy for the past 21 years, has written three full-length novels and 15 short stories. His novel, This is Life” (now. being filmed, brought him 25,000 dollars in film rights, apart from his sales of the book. After taking part in the landing on Morotai, in the Halmahera group, Waters is now in Sydney on leave.
