BLOWN UP OR SCUTTLED
GERMAN SHIPS IN BLACK SEA LONDON, Oct. 5. The Voelkischer Beobachter’s naval correspondent reports that all German ships in the Black Sea which are too big to sail up the Danube have been either blown up or scuttled. Nearly 100 vessels, including armed ferries, U-boats, and naval tugs, have been moved up the Danube to play a successful part as a river task force in the Iren Gate battle. Crews returning by land have also been engaged in the battle. N
