THE PETROL TAX
LARGER ALLOCATION SOUGHT The Works Committee of the City Council has recommended that the following remit be submitted at the Municipal Conference to be held in Wellington in November next:— That representations be again made to the Government urging that the allocation out of petrol tax to cities and boroughs with a population over 10,000 be increased so that such bodies may be given a more equitable share of the proceeds of such tax.”
