BELGIAN PRISONS
FULL OF SUSPECTED TRAITORS LONDON. Oct, 5. The Belgian orisons are bulging with over 40,000 suspected collaborators, arrested in a swift but calm purge, says the Associated Press Brussels correspondent. About 20 military tribunals are dealing out justice in Brussels. Namur, Ghent, Antwerp, Bruges. Liege, and Charleroi, and at least 10 traitors have been sentenced to death. No executions have been carried out in Belgium for the last 30 years, but the Belgians are now firmly opposed to clemency.
