FOOD FOR GREECE
NEW ZEALAND’S APPRECIATION EXPRESSED (P.A.) WELLINGTON, Oct. 6.. The Consul-general for Greece in Australia, M. Vrisakis, has expressed, on behalf of his Government, its thanks for the gifts of food to Greece from the Government in New Zealand through Mr T. E. Y. Seddon, Consulgeneral for Greece in New Zealand. In a message to the Prime Minister, Mr Fraser, M. Vrisakis says the Greek people and himself are deeply touched by the generous gesture, which is further proof of the undying friendship between “ our respective peoples, whose gallant men fought and fell side by side in Greece and Crete.” Mr Seddon adds to the message the deep appreciation of the Greek residents in New Zealand of the gift.
