PACIFIC SOLDIERS RETURN
A large draft of returned men from the Pacific area arrived in Oamaru about 3 o’clock yesterday morning. There was no ceremony, and the men were despatched to their homes as soon as (he train arrived. The Mayor (Mr J. C. Kirkness), women of the Transport Section of the Women’s War Service Auxiliary, and army personnel were present. The Oamaru Garrison Band also attended, and played appropriate marches.
