REPUBLIC OF CUBA
NEW PRESIDENT ELECTED NEW YORK, June 2. Dr Ramon Crau, a university professor, was elected President of Cuba, defeating Dr Carlos Saladrigas, the candidate of the Goverhment coalition, composed of the Liberal, Democratic, A.B.C. and Communist Parties. Dr Crau served as President during five hectic months in 1933 and 1934.
