NOTES FROM RICCARTON
(Special) CHRISTCHURCH, June 12. Cataract continues to make progress in his jumping and he gave another very smart exhibition over the pony hurdles. This Theio gelding, now four years old. gives promise of being a useful performer, and already F. A. Roberts has been approachrd with a view to his sale. Tatting and Gieucos were mates in a school over six hurdlrs. Tatting was in front at the end. after showing to more advantage than Gieucos. The latter has two engagements at Washdyke next week, and he may be started In the steeplechase.
Airborne and Tan Peter went very well, ■with the pase on all the way, over four hurdles. These are two much improved jumpers. Force went by himself, with the pace on, over the steeplechase fences, giving a good exhibition till he ran off at the last fence, the second of the double, which he afterwards jumped in good.style. Tea Drop gave a brilliant display over four hurdles. It was thought he would have his first jumping race in the steeplechase at Washdyke, but it is possible now that he will make his debut amonog the hurdlers.
