AMBULANCE RETURNS
The ambulance returns for May show that 221 calls were attended to during the month, the ambulances ravelling a total distance of 1989 miles. Twent.y-eight calls to accidents were answered. Several longdistance trips were undertaken, patients being transported from Oamaru. Palmerston, Port Chalmers. Middlemarch, Henley. Waipoi'i, Mosgiei, Brighton and SeaclifT. The district nurses paid 539 visits to 70. patients during the montli Thirteen new patients were visited, and four deaths were recorded.
