SWIMMING SPORTS The Dunedin division of the Girl Guides held its annual swimming sports in the Municipal Baths last Frilday night. At the conclusion of the programme, the provincial commissioner, Mrs F. G. Soper, presented the trophies. The Junior Cup was won by St. Hilda’s and Caversham, with 6 points each, and the Senior Cup by Columba and Roslyn with 15 points each. The awards in the open section went to Caversham Company, with 10 points in the junior section, and to Roslyn. with 14 points, in the senior section. The results were as follows; Junior Cup—Breaststroke; N. Preston (Mosgiel) 1, J. Ferens (Anderson's Bay) 2. S. Ryburn (Opoho) and B, Wadsworth (Port Chalmers) equal 3. Lang (Knox -) 1 S Thomlinson (Central Mission) 2. 'The life-saving event was won by Musselburgh. St. Hilda’s was second, and Caversham third. An exhibition of life line-throwing was given by tll £, v f*‘ i . ngers : and during the interval an exhibition ot trick diving was given by three members of the Kiwi Club—Messrs Freeman, Sinclair and Eckoff.
