BICYCLES IN GARDENS

The curator (Mr John Tait) reported to the Oamaru Borough Council last night that bicycles had been a source of annoyance in the gardens over a considerable period. For the second lime bicycles had been riddsn several times over a flower bed destroying many plants. He suggested that bicycles be prohibited entirely, and that prominent notices to that effect be placed at the three main entrances to the gardens. Mr Tait was empowered to procure the necessary signs as suggested.
