CROQUET
OTAGO CHAMPIONSHIPS The Otago croquet tournament was continued on the Watea and Punga lawns yesterday morning in ideal conditions. As a result of heavy rain, however, play was abandoned in the afternoon. A decision will be made this morning whether or not the lawns have recovered sufficiently to enable play to be resumed. The results of yesterday’s play are as follows: A Grade Championship Doubles Mesdames Buchler and Moodie 26, Mesdames Warburton and Forrester 18; Mesdames Anderson and Robertson 26, Mrs Hardy and Miss Hercus 12; Mesdames Metcalf and Holmes 26, Mesdames Knox and Henry 13: Mesdames Millin and Halstead 26, Me'sdames Lattimer and Trendgold 20. B Grade Championship Doubles Mesdames Hangar and Seear 26, Mesdames Burgess ,and Hogg 25. Open Championship Mrs Halstea'd 26, Mrs Knox 14; Mrs Robertson 26. Miss Brown 4; Mrs Warburton 26, Mr Torrance 20. A Grade Handicap Singles Mrs Wilson 26, Miss Brown 18.
