TWENTY MILLION CHINESE CHUNGKING, Feb. 8.

Over 20,000,000 Chinese face starvation in the once thriving Hopei province, says the Associated Press correspondent, quoting Chinese reports. Many areas have become waste land. Through the destruction of irrigation works by the Japanese and the intensified conscription of the Chinese population for labour service, the harvest in many areas is only from 20 to 50 per cent, of the normal yield.
