GREETINGS TO MAYOR The Mayor (Mr J. C. Kirkness) has received a Christmas card conveying the season’s greetings from Lieutenantgeneral Sir Bernard C. Freyberg,, V.C. The card contains photographs of the Axis chief of staff reading the terms of surrender in Tunisia, Field-marshal Messe arriving to surrender, and the 9th Light Division coming in under the white flag.
