Gillespie’s Beach Dredge.— I The directors report that on October 2 the transformer of the pumping plant which supplies the water to the dredge paddock was burnt out, necessitating the transformer being sent to Christchurch for repa'rs The dredge resumed operations on Tuesday, October 26. On the following Monday (November 1) the main electric cable in the dredge paddock fused, and a further delay occurred on that account, the dredge resuming once again following repairs on November 9. A return of 38oz 12dwt for 214 hours’ dredging from 27,928 cubic yards is now reported. Austral N.Z. Dredge.— For the 14 days ended November 13 the dredge at Cromwell was operated for 246 hours, producing 202 ounces of refined bullion
