BEEF PRICES EASIER (Special) OAMARU, Nov. 16. Prices for beef were easier at the Waiareka sale to-day. There were large yardings of fat sheep and pigs, a medium yarding of fat cattle, and a small yarding of store sheep. Prime ox beef can be quoted at 60s per 1001 b, heifer 40s. and cow 25s to 30s. Quotations are as follows:

Fat Cattle. —Best steers, £l6 to £l9; medium, £l3 to £ls 15s: light, £9 10s to £11; best heifers, £ll 2s 6d to £l4 ss; light, to £lO ss; best cows, £ll 10s to £l3; medium, £8 5s to £lO ss; light, to £5 10s. Fat Sheep.—Shorn wethers, 36s to 39s 3d medium, 30s 3d to 34s 6d; best woolly ewes, 40s to 44s Gd; medium, 33s 9d to 375; light, 29s to 30s 6d; best shorn ewes, 30s 9d to 33s Gd; medium. 26s 3d to 28s: light, down to 245. Store Sheep.—Ewes and lambs, all counted, 14s Id to 15s 6d; ewe hoggets, 42s 9d; smaller, 34s 2d.

Dairy cows, £6 10s. Pigs.—Best slips, 29s to 335; other, 24s to 265; small, 15s to 16s 6d.
