COMMUNITY SING

FINAL MID-DAY SESSION The last mid-day community sing of the season was held in the Strand Theatre yesterday. There was a large attendance, and the singing was of a high standard. Songs by New Zealand composers were featured, the outstanding numbers being “ England’s Rainbow,” ” King of the Blue,” "Airman’s Hymn,” and “ Maori Battalion.” Mr Archie Jones and Mr Aubrey Clarke rendered vocal solos and were accorded a good reception. Mr H. P. Desmoulins, assisted by Mr J. F-. Himburg, led the singing, and Mr A. Pettitt was at the piano. The proceeds were given to the St. John Ambulance Association Mr H. L. Paterson, on behalf of the associat’on, thanked the committee for its assistance and also the public for its generous support. The final sing will be held in the Town Hall on Tuesday night. November 2.
