Monday, August 16 (Before Mr 11. W. Bundle, S.M.) Seamen in Trouble Leonard Russell Gray, aged 22, and Harvey Wiens, aged 21, seamen from an Allied merchant ship, who, it was stated bv the' police, seemed to think they were entitled to "take the town apart, were charged with being drunk and disorderly. On Saturday evening, Sergeant Harris told the court, Gray and Wiens went to a taxi depot and ordered a taxi, but the operator, in view of the fact that he had had trouble with them earlier in the day, refused to let them Have a car. The two accused then broken open the office door and, seizing a chair and a telephone, threatened the staff, who, however, succeeded in ejecting them. They were finally arrested by Sergeant Croxford in Harrop street, where they were molesting two young women. After being bailed in the sum of £2 each, they were placed on board their ship, which had since sailed.—Each of the accused was convicted and fined £2.
