IMPORT LICENSING

The Comptroller of Customs has advised the Dunedin Chamber...of Commerce of further amendments to the import licensing schedule for the seventh period. These relate to glass sheet, common window, or plate, etc,-and to Madagascar beans'. A copy of the amended orders may be seen at the office of the chamber, Dunedin.

Scott Bros., produce merchants and commission agents, registered egg and onion merchants, report:—Eggs: Payout values for consignments received August 9 to August 13 will be:—Heavy, 2s Id; standard, Is lid; medium, Is lOd. Butter: Wanted; Is per lb. Poultry: Hens. 3s 6d to 4s 9d each; heavy breeds, 5s to 6s 6d each; ducks, 3s 6d to 4s 6d each; ducklings. 5s to 6s Gd each; goslings, 5s to 6s each; turkeys, to Is 2d per lb, live weights. Potatoes: Graded lets at fixed values; ungraded, nominally £1 ton under fixed rates. Whole fowl wheat. 21s 6d to 24s per sack. Chaff: Prime oaten sheaf, £6 15s per ton, ex truck; £8 ex store, bags extra. Whole maize. 8s per bushel. Partridge peas. 10s bushel. Oyster grit, 6s 6d per 1001 b bag. Straw: Wheaten, 2s 9d per bale; oaten, 3s 3d per bale, ex store. Canterbury onions. 23s per cwt. Oat dust, 5s fid per sack. Lucerne meal, 12s fid per sack. Ground oats. 17s per 2<'olb for pies and poultry. We stock cirickfoods. meatmeals, oyster grit: barley dust. 10s 6d 1501 b. etc. All eggs graded to regulations; payments weekly.—August 16, 1943.
