ITALIANS IN HANKOW
STRICT SURVEILLANCE (Rec. 0.15 a.m.) CHUNGKING, Aug. 16. The Central News reports that, following the fall of Mussolini, the Japanese authorities in Hankow placed all Italians in the city under strict surveillance. They also confiscated their short-wave radios and prescribed severe punishment for Italians who listen to Allied broadcasts.
