Presbyterial Association.—The annual meeting of the Central Otago Presbyterial Association was held on Thursday. Mrs D. Heggie presided, and gave a short address. It was decided to arrange meetings for the organising secretary, Mrs Waddell, who is to visit the district in October. It was also decided to purchase a radio for the missionary manse, any amount required beyond the funds in hand to be borrowed from the Presbyterial 'Association funds. In the afternoon the modera-. tor of the presbytery, the Rev. E. E. Andrews, presided, and introduced the Rev. A. M. Elliffe, superintendent of the P.S.S.A., who gave an account of the work and difficulties his association was facing. The election of officers resulted:—President, Mrs G. Renwick (Cromwell); vicepresident's, Miss Salmond (Queenstown) and Mrs E. E. Andrews (Alexandra); secretary, Mrs Ritchie (Cromwell); treasurer, Mrs Leask (Omakau). Personal.—On the eve of her marriage to the Rev. S. A. G. Hurd, vicar of Dunstan, Miss M. Craw, of Chatto Creek, was entertained at a social evening. On behalf of the residents, Mr John Love presented her with a hall stand and an envelope containing a sum of money. Mr Love referred to the excellent qualities of the guest and the assistance she had at all times given to functions at Chatto Creek. Mr Hurd returned thanks on behalf of Miss Craw.

Valedictory.—Prior to leaving the employ of the Otago Central Electric Power Board, Mr W. Langbein, who has been station engineer at the Roariqg Meg, was met by the board’s staff and presented with a travelling rug as a mark of esteem. Mr W. Bringans, chairman of the board, who made the presentation, referred to the good work of Mr Langbein as an officer of the board, and wished him every success in his new position with the Marlborough Electric Power Board. The en-gineer-manager, Mr A. E. Ellis, the secretary, Mr V. H. Galt, and Messrs J. D. Stewart and H. H. Kemp, foremen, all expressed regret at Mr Langbein’s departure. Mr Langbein made a suitable reply.
