ITALIAN ARRESTED
PLANNED THE MATTEOTTI * MURDER LONDON, Aug. 12. According to the Rome newspaper Messagero, the Italian police have arrested Amerigo Dumini, who planned the murder of Matteotti, the Italian Socialist deputy in 1924. Following the murder of Matteotti, Mussolini was accused of instigating the crime to rid himself of a dangerous opponent. Dumini was then sentenced to five years’ gaol for “ unpremeditated killing,” but was released soon after.
