MR SUMNER WELLES
NO CHANGE OF POSITION WASHINGTON, Aug. 11. The Secretary of State, Mr Cordell Hull, denied the New York Times report that Mr Sumner Welles is to be assigned to important diplomatic duty. Mr Hull said this newest story was merely a recurrence of similar reports circulated in recent years and on each occasion denied.
