GERMAN FOOD RATIONS
DRASTIC REDUCTION LIKELY (Rec. 10 p.m.) LONDON, Aug. 12. The German Ministry of Agriculture reported that, owing to the bad harvest, only 9,000,000 tons of wheat will be available for public ocnsumption instead of the 11,000,000 tons required. Reporting this, the Stockholm correspondent of the Daily Express says that a drastic reduction in food rations is expected. Another Stockholm message reports that Berlin’s entire school system has been moved to undisclosed areas in East Prussia, Brandenburg, and elsewhere.
