LEVY ON LOCAL AUTHORITIES TOTAL OF £66,990 The sum of £66.990 8s lOd was levied by the Otago Hospital Board at a special meeting yesterday on the contri. butory local authorities as. their portion of the board’s revenue for tha year ending March 31, - .1944. The amount is levied annually and is based on the capital value of the rateable property in. each contributory district. As a result of the increased payments to hospital boards from the Social Security Fund, the total levied this year is lower than last year’s levy by about £5509. The sum to be collected oil behalf of the board by the Dunedin City Council is £45,198 14s. Those present at the meeting, at which the board’s amended estimates for the coming year were also approved were:—Messrs J. W. Dove (in the chair), A. Steel, J. D. Calder L. F. Evans, A. F. Quelch, Dr W. Newlands, Dr Gerald Fitzgerald, and Mrs Ross. The amounts to be collected by the local authorities are as follows:
