The return match between Otago and Southland was played at Invercargill last Saturday night, the players, especially in the ladies’ section, being fairly evenly matched. The results were as follows: Men: Otago 49, Southland 29. Women: Otago 45, Southland 33. For the winners, Brown (9), Downie (9), Miss Duckworth (10), Miss Lungley (10), played well, while the best players for Southland were Horman (7), Breayley (G). and Miss V. Townsend (9). The following were the results of matches played this week:— Men.—A Grade: Aotea 28, Hillside 8; Excelsior beat Y.M.C.A. II by default. B Grade: Aotea I 23, Kensington-Dunedin 13- Aotea II 26, Hillside 10; Roslyn Methodist I 25, North-East Valley 11; St. Patrick’s 21, Y.M.C.A. 15. C. Grade: NorthEast Valley 28, St. Patrick’s 8; Tiki 18, Tramways 18; Kensington-Dunedin I 31, Roslyn Methodist 5; Hillside 19, Ken-sington-Dunedin II 17; Aotea beat AckAck by default.
