(P.A.) BLENHEIM, Aug. 11. A resolution urging that the Land Sales Bill should be deferred until after the elections was carried unanimously at a representative meeting 'of larid owners last night. Failing postponement of the measure, the meeting recommended variout amendments, including deletion of the contentious part 111 dealing with methods of controlling the -inflation of land values and the prevention of land aggregation. The meeting expressed itself as being in harmony with the policy of providing land for ex-servicemen, but urged that the - Government should include in the definition of servicemen those detained by the man-power authorities and appeal boards in essential industries, including farming. , . . ... It was further advocated that a Supreme Court judge should preside over the land purchase court, and that the claimant should be entitled to nominate one assessor and the Government one.
