THE PRESBYTERY AND PRAYERMEETINGS

Sir, —The . reports, presented at the last presbytery meeting which dealt with the prayer meetings made very sorry reading. If the feeling expressed is that ,ef supposedly professing Christians it proves beyond' a doubt that Protestantism has degenerated greatly since the days of the reformers. If we cease praying we may as well close our churches, as prayer is the very life blood of our Christian religion. Numbers of Protestant Christians arr far from satisfied with many things of the present time and; feel that another disruption would do a great amount of good.—l am, etc., Presbyterian. August 5.
