WAIAREKA SALE
(Special) OAMARU, Aug. 10. There was a medium yarding of fat cattle and sheep and a good yarding of pigs at the Waiareka sale to-day, values bring on a par with those of last week. Prime steer beef can be quoted at 50s to 55s per 1001 b; best heifer, 30s to 555; best cow, 35s to 40s: aged cow, 20s to 255. The range of prices was as follows: Fat Cattle. —Best steers, £ls 17s 6d to £l7 2s 6d; medium, £8 15s to £l4 rOfbest heifers, £ls to £18; medium £lO to £l4; best cows, £lO 15s to £l2 15s, medium, £7 7s 6d to £9 ss; light, down to £5 15s. ■ Fat Sheep.— Best ewes, 32s to 35s 6d, medium, 29s 6d to 31s 6d; light, 25s 6d to Store 6d Sheep.— A pen of store wether hoggets, 19s Id. .Dairy Cows.—Two Ayrshire cows, at profit, £3 10s each; Jersey cows, at profit, £3 to £5 15s. , A pigs,—Slips, 30s to 345; best weaners, 24s to 24s 6d; small, 11s to 19s.
