FAT CATTLE VALUES IMPROVE (P A ) INVERCARGILL, Aug. 10. Vaiues for fat wethers at the Lorneville sale to-day were a .little easier, but there was a slightly better market for ewes. Extra prime wethers realised up to 475; good quality, 40s to 425; medium, 36s to 38s; lighter, down to 345. Prime heavy maiden ewes made up to 355; prime heavy ewes, 32s to 33s 6d; good medium, 28s to 295; lighter, to 275; and poor sorts up to 22s Fat Cattle.—The market was firm at the opening of the sale, values later improving by from 20s to 30s a head. Prime heavy bullocks made up to £2l; good medium-weight bullocks, £l6 to £l7 10s; lighter, £l2 10s to £l4; prime heavyweight cows up to £l7; good coiVs, £l3 ios to medium. £lO 10s to £ll 10s. and lighter. £7 10s to £9. Prime heavy heifers made up to £l6; good quality, £lO 10s to £l2 10s, and medium, £7 10s to £9. Best runners brought up to £5 los, and vealers, £3 to £4.
