Golf. —The second round of the Scrymgeour Memorial Match was played at Omakau on Saturday. C. Deaker defeated J. Charles, and in the semi-final L. Harvey (5 up) defeated A. Prisk. The final will be played on Saturday between Deaker and Harvey. In the ladies’ section Miss C. Harvey defeated Mrs Charles, Mrs Truesdale beat Mrs Scorgie, and Miss J. Harvey beat Mrs Oaten. In the next round Miss C. Harvey wil play the winner of Mrs Walling ton and Mrs Wilson, and Miss J. Harvey will play Mrs Truesdale. A Bogey Match will be played by other members, the draw to be made on the links. - : .
Rugby Football.—ln a very one-sided match at On.akau on Saturday Matakanui defeated Clyde by 65 points to nil. Four matches have so far been played in the competition and the local team has won all its games, with an aggregate score of 144 points co 12 points. Next Saturday Matakanui “will play Alexandra at Omakau.
The Weather.—Although there are signs of spring, heavy frosts still continue, up to 20 degrees being registered at times. The Oturehua and Becks districts experienced another fall of snow last week, six inches being recorded at Oturehua.
