Temperatures are milder. First Signs of Spring.—An indication of the advent of spring is seen in the Cromwell Gorge, where the almond trees are showing the .first, blossom of the season. These hardy trees are the first to bloom in the district, and following the succession of hard frosts which have been experienced, the promise of warmer weather is evident by these signs.
