PRESIDENT ROOSEVELT

VACATION COMPLETED (Rec. 7 p.m.) RUGBY, Aug. 9. President Roosevelt has been on a holiday to Canada. A Washington statement says he returned to the White House after a vacation on Lake Huron. The President’s secretary, Mr Stephen Early, said that as far as he was aware there had been no meeting with Canadian representatives or officials.

The President to-day received the British Ambassador, Lord Halifax, who. it is understood, paid his respects to the President before completing final arrangements for his visit to Britain.
