Mr G. R. Ritchie left yesterday for Wellington. Messrs P. Neilson, M.P., and M. Connelly, M.L.C., left yesterday for Wellington.
Mr W. M. C. Denham, M.P., .travelled from Invercargill by the through express yesterday on his way to Wellington.
Mr John Fuess, American Vice-consul at Belfast, who has been transferred to Auckland, will leave shortly (says a special message from London) .to take up his new appointment. Mr W. F. Bisset, of Invercargill, was a passenger by the through express yesterday on his way to Wellington to attend a meeting of the Newspaper Proprietors’ Association.
The Industrial Man-power Appeal Committee—Messrs M. W. Grantham (chairman), S. D. Macpherson, and H. H. Gillard—accompanied by the secretary (Mr W J. Mathers), will leave this morning to hold sittings at Milton, Balclutha, and Invercargill. The committee will return to Dunedin on Friday night. Passenger's who left for the north by the airliner yesterday were: Mr N. w. Fenton, Mr H. A. Mathias, and Mr and Mrs J. Lindsay for Christchurch, Mrs Jones, Mr A. J. Smith. Mr G. Ramsay, and Mr J. Grant for Wellington. Miss L. Gordon and Mr A. Thornton for Auckland Passengers .who arrived by the afternoon plane were: Miss B. A. Winstone from Auckland, Mr I. Glendining, Mr H. Beauchamp, Mr J. S. Land, and Mr G. Stratmore from Wellington, Mr and Mrs W. S. Riddell from Auckland, Miss A. Norris. Miss W. Norris, and Dr E. Cuttle from Christchurch.
