Miss M. MacKerrow presided at the recently-held annual meeting of the Hampden Sub-centre of the Red Cross Society. It was reported that, owing to the difficulty of obtaining wool, and the rationing of supplies, it had not been possible to achieve the previous year’s record of . work. One hundred and four knitted garments were despatched to the North Otago Centre, Oamaru, and 02 articles of clothing were added to the emergency chest stored at the local E.P. dressing post. The retiring committees were re-elected, and the following office-bearers were appointed:—Patron, Sir Louis Barnett; president, Miss M. MacKerrow; vicepresidents, Lady Barnett and Mrs HFinch; delegate and hon. secretary and treasurer, Mrs N. Fynmore.
