PROFITS OVEIR ONE MILLION (Rec. 0.15 a.m.) SYDNEY, May 31. The 172nd annual report of the Colonial Sugar Refining Company states that the profits for the year ended March 31 last amounted to £1,041,610. The board proposes to pay a final dividend amounting to 17s per share, which'absorbs £497,250. The.sum of £469,439 is carried forward. ' For the past season' production in Australia was less than in the previous year owing to the shortage of labour and fertilisers. In Fiji about 5 per cent, more cane was crushed than during 1941. The sales of refined sugar in the Commonwealth and New Zealand, amounting to more than 500,000 tons, constituted a record.
