CROMWELL
Farmers’ Union.—The Cromwell branch of the New Zealand Farmers’ Union held its annual meeting in the Lowburn Hall. The president (Mr H. Perriam) presided over a moderate attendance. The balance sheet, which showed an ’ increased credit of approximately £6, was favourably commented on, and was adopted. The election of office-bearers resulted as follows: President, Mr W. McMillan; secretary, Mr E. J/ Radford; representative on the Provincial Council, Mr C. Harris; vice-presi-dents—Messrs E. J. Radford (senior), V. Parcell, C. S. Harris, and J. P. O'Malley. Football.—ln a match in aid of the patriotic funds, played at Lowburn on Saturday afternoon, Tarras defeated Lowburn by 15 points to 6. The play 1 was bright, and a fair crowd from the surrounding districts was present, in spite of the cold weather. ,
