ATTACK ON CONVOY
AT LEAST ONE SHIP SUNK RUGBY, Apl. 29.
Fleet Air Arm Albacores sank at least one R-boat and severely damaged others in a convoy of about 12 off the French coast last night. The boats were first attacked just after midnight about three miles off Berck.
When a second attack was made four hours later the boats were, according to one Albacore pilot. “ milling around in a complete shambles and following one another like sheep. In the centre of the circle was the Rrboat blazing furiously amidships. We cannot definitely claim more than one sunk, but the damage to the rest must have been severe,” he said.
