“AT ANY MOMENT”
INVASION OF EUROPE (Rec. 0.45 a.m.) LONDON, Apl. 19. In launching the fourth Victory Loan campaign of 110,000,000d0l at Toronto, the Canadian Prime Minister, Mr W. L. Mackenzie King, said: “We should be prepared for the invasion of Europe at any moment.” He added that, while conditions now seemed favourable for a combined blow at German power in Europe, delays might be made necessary by unforeseen events in one or other theatres of the global war. Mr King also said that Germany must be completely defeated. Of the defeat of Italy there could be no doubt. The defeat of Japan was more remote, but was none the less certain.
