FRESH CHINESE SUCCESSES (Rec. 1.30 a.m.) NEW YORK, Mar. 12. The Japanese have captured the important town of Hwayung in their drive to the south across the Yangtse, which is apparently aimed at the strategic Chinese base of Changsha, reports the Chungking correspondent of the United Press. A Chinese communique records new successes by Chinese forces on the Yunnan front. West of the Salween River, Tientan and Mingkwang have been recaptured, while the enemy is being pursued towards Tengchung.
