STORY OF THE OLD WEST The stars of " Wyoming,” Wallace Beery and Marjorie Main, are brought together again in "Jackass Mail.” another story of the Old West, which began its season at the Empire Theatre yesterday. Beery is once more a bandit and first ‘ meets Miss Main when he attempts to rob the " Jackass Mail, which she owns. He is forestalled by another bandit, however, but succeeds in foiling him. and the grateful Miss Main offers him the post of driver of the mail. He accepts, believing that it will enable him to steal a gold shipment without any trouble. His efforts to be an outlaw are continually frustrated, chiefly by the young son of the bandit whom Beery killed, and by Miss Main, with Whom he has many hilarious scenes. Beery, more determined than ever, finally resolves m steal the shipment at all costs. Another bandit attempts a robbery at the same time, and in the resultant fight Hickman, who is riding with Beery, is wounded, and the would-be bandit throws aside his ambitions to save the youngster s life. The box plans are at the theatre and the D.I.C.
