BALCLUTHA STOCK SALE
At the Balclutha stock sale yesterday there was an entry of 535 fat sheep and lambs and 3533 store sheep. Late values were well maintained. Fat Sheep.—Fat lambs sold at 22s 6d to 275; fat ewes, 12s 6d to 16s 6d. There were no wethers. Store Sheep.—Rape lambs made 17s to 19s; medium wether lambs, 14s to 15s 9d; small lambs, 11s; ewe lambs, 23s to 25s 9d for best; medium, 17s to 21s; store wethers, 23s to 28s; young ewes, to 30s; full-mouth ewes, 15s to 18s; best failingmouth ewes, 12s to 14s 6d; cull ewes, 6s to 8s 6d. Fat Cattle.—A very small yarding. Fat bullock, £l3; fat heifer, £5 12s 6d; cow, £4 10s. Store Cattle.—One and a-half to two and a-half year steers, £6; one bull, £3. Pigs.—Only a few young pigs were penned, and these sold at up to 19s for suckers.
