Gore Ram Fair.—Mr E. M. Coleman (North Balclutha) did well with his Southdowns at the Gore Ram Fair on Monday. A Southdown ram from Mr Coleman’s stud brought 20 guineas, and a Romney the same figure, flock rams realising from 8 guineas to 15 guineas. The estate of W. A. Pannett (Clinton) received 50 guineas for a stud Southdown ram and up to 14 guineas for flock Southdowns. J. Mosley and Sons (Clydevale) received from 18 to 26 guineas for Romneys. Mr W. A. Moffat (Te Houka) purchased a Romney Marsh stud ram for 58 guineas from the estate of D. Robertson (Waikoikoi). The top price for a stud Romney was 97 guineas, and for a Southdown 101 guineas. Personal.—Aircraftman Percy Shand has been given a month’s leave of absence from camp in order to manage Mr H. H. Lyall’s office. Mr Lyall is in hospital, as the result of an accident.
