SWIMMING As a conclusion to its “ Learn-to-Swim” week, the Port Chalmers Swimming Association held a primary schools' championship meeting at Innes Bay. The final swim for certificates resulted in the following number being granted: —lO yards, 1; 25 yards, 1; 50 yards, 5; 100 yards, 2; 220 yards, 7; 880 yards. 10; one mile, 4. WATER SUPPLY As a result of the week-end rain, a gain of 14 inches was noted at the reservoir, but since then there has been a further drop of three inches, leaving the level still 12 feet 7 inches below normal. This makes it necessary that consumers should continue to exercise care in the use of water.
