Joan Conquest, who is on the front in the Timaru Trotting Cup on 4mln 32sec, went 4min 22 3-ssec when fourth in the Durham Handicap, run at Addington on February 27. Mr J. R. McKenzie has presented a two-year-old pacer by U. Scott —Great Actress to be raffled for patriotic purposes. After winning the Rattray Handicap in 4min 14 4-ssec, Haughty went 2min 37 l-ssec when second to Gold Bar in the Free-for-AU. In the Washdyke Handicap Haughty is on 2min 45sec—a 2mm Osec clip. Paul Collette, a chestnut colt by Jack Potts-Bridget Borough, is being fancied as likely to trouble Bel Hamed in .he Timaru' Nursery Stakes. Acropolis, by Dillon Hall—Sunworthy, is also fancied for the race. Not much has been seen of Single Star since she won in 4min 21sec in November at Addington. At Forbury Park she went 4min 21 3-ssec when third to Shadow Maid and Countless and 3mln 34sec for 13 furlongs at Addington on January 1. In her last race Single Star was unplaced behind Pacing Power in the Durham Han- ; dicap in 4min 21sec. In the Timaru Trot- | ting Cup Single Star meets Pacing Power on 24 yards better terms.
