REHEARING GRANTED

MILITARY DEFAULTER DISCHARGED CASE ADJOURNED SINE DIE After the luncheon adjournment yesterday, Mr H. W. Bundle. S.M., Intimated in the Magistrate’s Court that the police wished to place certain facts before him concerning John Patrick Nash, who, on the previous day, was sentenced to a month’s imprisonment for failing to proceed to camp, and was ordered to be detained in a military camp for the duration of the war. Senior Sergeant T. I. McGregor applied for a rehearing of the case, and medical testimony was given by Dr R. J. S. Fitzgerald. Mr Bundle said that, in view of the medical evidence, he would grant a rehearing, and he adjourned the case sine die, to be brought on at any time on three days’ notice being given to the accused, who was discharged in the meantime. He instructed Senior Sergeant McGregor to communicate the facts to the military authorities.
