AMERICAN ARMY AWARDS
WASHINGTON, Jan. 25.
The War Department has announced that the Silver Star has been awarded to Brigadier-general Clovis Byers for gallantry in action in New Guinea from December 4 to 24, and the Distinguished Service Medal to Colonel Paul Wurtsmith for exceptionally meritorious service in commanding an army air force group in the vicinity of Darwin from March, 1942, to January, 1943.
