Gordon, soldier, a recommendation was made that further service be limited to New Zealand only. Other Decisions Appeals were withdrawn in the following cases on condition that the reservists are not called up before the dates mentioned:—F. Chaney, painter (own appeal). March 31, 1943; Public Works Department, for R. Morrison, skilled labourer, January 31 1943. An appeal by T. Smith for A. M. Lysaght, bricklayer, was adjourned until Aprii 30, 1943. Reserved decisions were delivered as follows:—Ross and Glendining, Ltd., for J. H. J. Wright, hatter.—Dismissed, the reservist not to be called up before January 31* 1943. Several appeals were lodged by the Otago University against the calling up of professors and lecturers. Appeals for Professors E. F. D’Ath and B, J. Marples w'ere adjourned sine die. An appeal for H. H. Ferguson, lecturer, was adjourned siiie die, and an appeal for W. S. Metcalf, lecturer, was dismissed, but service is to be limited to New Zealand only m November. December, and January of each year. Appeals for W. H. Hall, technician, and H. D. Purves, research officer, were adjourned sine die. , . Appeals for the following mining, agricultural, and science students were dismissed on condition that service is limited to New Zealand only from December to February inclusive;—A. C. Beck, R. B. Scddon, H. H. Colquhoun, A..W. Houston. W. I. Lalng. S. L. Whyte, P. F Neill. Appeals for the following dental and medical students were adjourned sine die;— W A Fraser, H. D. Rawson, H. A. Shavy, I G. Garvie. L. I. Phillips, H. Stone, A. G. L. Bruce, B. Oliver, and V. B. B, Conaglen. Appeals for A F Glenn and J C. Dickison, science students, were not supported by the University Selection Committee and were dismissed.
